htpasswd Generator

Create a .htpasswd user line (bcrypt, APR1 or SHA) to protect a folder.

The password is processed on our server and never stored. bcrypt is the right choice almost always. Note: each run uses a fresh salt, so the same password produces a different hash every time — that is expected.

How it works

We hash the password with the algorithm you choose — bcrypt via password_hash, Apache’s APR1-MD5, or SHA-1 — and return a line ready to paste. The password itself is never stored or logged.
